FAQ’s
The procedure may be painful, depending on a person’s tolerance to pain. One of the upsides about Fat Dissolving Injection is that it does not have any significant downtime for recovery.
Although redness, swelling, and pain may be felt in the area where the procedure was done, it is only standard and will heal in a matter of time.
After your treatment the full effects won’t initially be visible for around 3 days.
Results typically last from to 3-6 months, although this varies between patients depending on how long the hyaluronic acids take to be naturally absorbed by your body.
- Avoid Aspirin and Vitamin E for pain to reduce the risk of bruising or bleeding. Paracetamol is acceptable. Intermittent cooling with ice can be used by applying for 5 minutes post-procedure. A simple fan can also be helpful for discomfort.
- Avoid strenuous exercise for 48 hours.
Bruising may occur. - Avoid direct sunlight, sunbeds and heat therapies for atlas 48 hours.
- Avoid hot baths and showers (tepid water only) for 5 days.
Massage the treated area for about 15 minutes per day for two weeks after treatment to aid the process of fat elimination. - Nodules are not uncommon. They can last up to a month and usually disappear without any intervention. However, we would need to assess anything unusual.
- Drink lots of fluids (water) for the first 24 hours.
- Do not wash the area or take a hot shower for 8 hours after the treatment.
- Do not expose the treated area to intense heat e.g. sunbed, swimming, sauna, sunbathing or extreme coldness. A sauna before treatment can help to mobilise the fat. If it’s unavoidable to go into the sun, wear SPF 50 at all times.
Side effects of fat dissolving injections are rare. You may experience swelling, bruising, itching, pain, sensitivity to pressure and excessive warmth at the injection site however, this is usually resolved within three to five days.
